Hurray ! Siebel Center for Computer Science is opening up tomorrow at uiuc. Costing around $32 million + most of it coming from Tom Siebel (the nut) and the lone beneficiary Roy Campbell (the nut craker). GAIA the biggest joke in the history of ubiquitous computing; I am certainly not being prejudiced here :-)
Fairly pleasant and cool day not much pressure from the "dictators" ...... TGIF. Managed to add "Gaja" and " Cycle Gap" to the tamil slangs bible. A major milestone crossed; Successfull and official launch of the much hyped and awaited blog for our group; that is the AT&T Wireless group. Joining the bandwagon of corporates trying to build "Coporate Intelligence". We are calling it AWS Blog and still looking for a better name and logo idea. We had some hickups while trying to bulk load users to the blog... little bit of head banging led us to the solution and quickly put the pieces together.
One guy is pressing me since morning to get some stuff filled only on a "excel sheet"; I am trying to control myself but he trying to beat the animal out of me :-) sucks when u r forced to put up with such idiosyncrasies.
That was that, and being a friday I would love to go out and party(I am a party animal u know; those of u who really know me would instantly jump to the floor and lol, but my pity, that's how well u know me :-) I am different species all together when it comes to partying)..! but speaking of the reality, my bank balance is not all that encouraging :-( supposed to get my pay check today but I don't see it debited into my account yet.
Tomorrow is the day that I've been looking forward to whole of this week; likely get a song recorder in my friend's high tech. music studio. Keeping my fingures crossed.....

Why the hell does blogger can't republish automatically after a change??? Atleast we should have an option to turn it(auto republish) on/off.
It has been a horrible(most part of the day) and pleasant(between 5:00 and 7:00 pm, we successfully conducted the anti chess competition) and miserable from there on. It's now 9:04PM, I really am hungry no food; last morcel I had was at 12:30 :-(. I have still not completed my work for the day; need to tie up few loose ends. In short......I am all screwed !!

Ahh... ! 4,000 pakisthanis to be trained in open source software: Rs37m IT pilot project launched
What a shame ! What would be their next product "Lanther" ? :-)
Thoodaa nama ooru baasha
Today I managed to get half(30 songs) of deepak's scorpions collection; many thanks to him. When I listen to "Holiday" I am reminded of my 8th std. days, it was then, when I first happen to listen to Scorpions without even realising that it was scorpions; which I managed to find only a few years back :-) Truly esctatic nostalgia !
Deccan news had this article on non-violent booth capture technique being used in the current Lok Sabha elections.

“Padma phula chhada jahare chhuinle current mariba (If you press any button other than the lotus-marked button, you will get an electric shock)” — this bit of misinformation was circulated in the area dominated by the illiterate Kandh tribe before the first phase of elections on April 20.
The BJP workers allegedly warned, “If you do not get an immediate shock while pressing the wrong button, there is every possibility of experiencing pain afterwards. You will get a severe ache in your arm after 15 to 20 days that may incapacitate you.” Another warning floated among the ignorant tribals stated, “Your hands will swell and you may not be able to go for daily labour.”

Rajinikanth ! what is he ? A super hero ?
What role can he really play if he gets into politics ?
The recents news is that he is taking PMK's chairman Ramados 1 on 1 head to head.
Fearing a threat to his fans from PMK supporters during the LS polls, superstar Rajinikant Monday approached the Election Commission in Delhi to seek protection for them. He met Chief Election Commissioner T S Krishnamurty, who assured him all help.

We have seen never ending debates and discussions on the pros and cons of Microkernel and Monolithic kernels. Folks at Lucent Bell Laboratories and Cluster Research group (LANL) have come up with a completely different perspective on distributed systems particularly, distributed operating system.
